Athlete changed her sex
In 1999 Yvonne Busch Baum became champion of Germany in pole-vault. After that, she participates also on the Sydney Olympics. Throughout that period, she has wanted to be a man. The story was told by the tabloid “Bild”, quoted by newspaper “Monitor”.
She/he has a world cup for girls since 1999, sixth place on the Sydney Olympics year later and a bronze medal from the European competition in 2002. This makes her the second most successful German pole-vault competitor in the history but that will be changed very soon.
In 2007 she gave up the sport and started a procedure of sex changing and she consisted to be called Ballian – by the name of the blacksmith in the movie „Kingdom of Heaven“.
The surgery was made in 2008 in Potsdam. She chose her new name to be Ballian Busch Baum, who these days is expected to participate in a show of RTL Let‘s Dance TV. Before the start of this initiative Mr. Busch Baum tells about his internal discomfort, in which he was living long years.
Is it really a satisfactory outcome? Exclusively! The leading surgeon had to receive an “Oscar” award just for his work – says Ballian. He is so good that I can actually walk without any worries. I can use the sauna or go to a nudist beach without any concerns. No one can believe that once I was a woman.
The readers of newspaper “Bild” are asking themselves how to achieve the feeling to become a new man. Ballian says that she totally has forgot her previous life although in it I had everything a man can dream about. I earned a lot from the sport and I could afford everything but that was not making me happy. Then I said to myself that I have to do everything, even to sleep under the bridges, but to fulfill my dream and become a man!
